today will be hot. thisl be close to 100 afternoon. no rain for the morning commute. the dew points are running in the 60's. just like yesterday, a slight chance for some thunderstorms late in the day. let's say good morning to kim. >> we have major roadways that are looking pretty good. there is a water main break on southbound york road. that is shut down southbound. we have a two-way traffic pattern. that could cause a backup. otherwise, bold and mill road remains shut down because of a downed tree -- baldwin road.

we have some debris in the road. a crash in the city at north street. a traffic light is out in hanover. the major roadways are looking ok. 11 minutes in the outer loop in the northeast corner. no delays around the major roadways. this is the west side of the beltway north of a security boulevard. 95 near 195, things are moving fine towards the southwest corner of the beltway. that is the latest on traffic pulse 11. >> the triple digit weather is our big story this morning. >> it will reach 100 an even higher. nadia ramdass joins us more with what health officials are saying. >> we're here at the pepsi

plant. the temperature is sitting at 76 degrees. as we know, it will get hotter and hotter throughout the day. the heat wave so far this week has claimed the lives of five people in baltimore city. emergency room visits are soaring. there have been eight heat- related deaths in maryland this week. ice and bottled water has been passed out to people without power. one man has suffered back-to- back heat strokes since the storm knocked out his power. he and his wife continue to sleep at home with the windows closed for safety reasons. >> it has been miserable.

road. the boy was at a party. family members realized he was missing. >> police are investigating three deadly shootings in the past 24 hours. the most recent one happened in northeast baltimore. paramedics transported the victim to an area hospital where he was pronounced dead. the search continues for the person who shot and killed a man on thursday. kenneth williams was found suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. investigators continue their search for the suspect in the murder of lance johnson. he was shot on eutaw place. anyone with information should call the city's homicide units.

>> a woman is accused of leading police on a wild chase through harford county. she hit a woman and her son on franklin street on tuesday night. police say that she struck a police car and led police on a chase. this happened along route 40 before being stopped and arrested. of how the snapshot economy is doing when the june jobs report is released. president obama travels to key battleground states. hallie jackson joins us live with that story. >> good morning. economists are guessing the unemployment rate will stay the same with about 100,000 new jobs added gifford tave or take.

today. health officials here tell us the heat wave has claimed the lives of five people in maryland. outside,ink it's hot try flipping burgers inside a food truck. >> it is 100 out there. it's 120 in here. so it's very hot. very, very hot. >> health officials are very concerned about the next couple of days because of the expected 100-plus degree temperatures, warning those who have to work outside, especially all the utility workers trying to restore power. >> we are very concerned about this prolonged heat wave and its effect on a lot of folks here in the mid atlantic region. >> so far this year since april, we have had 18 days of 90 degrees or more and two days in june of 100 degrees or more. with those 100-degree days expected to double over the next couple of days, doctors are urging people to be aware. >> it is common sense.
